Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of squadaffiliate.com and the Squad Affiliate plugin provided by The WP Squad ("we", "us"). By using the site or the plugin, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
Who these terms are between
Between you and The WP Squad. They cover this website, the free plugin from the WordPress.org directory, and any paid licence you buy. Using any of the three means you accept them.
Your licence
The plugin is licensed, not sold. The free build is distributed under the GPL, version 2 or later, and nothing in these terms takes away a right the GPL gives you.
A paid licence is not permission to use the code. The GPL already grants that. What you buy is a period of updates, access to the paid build and its support, on the number of sites your plan states. Free covers one programme on unlimited affiliates; Pro covers one site; Agency covers as many as you run. Exceeding your count does not break the software, it just means the licence needs to match what you are doing.
Paying, renewing and stopping
Checkout and billing run through Freemius, who are the merchant of record: your invoice comes from them, and the tax treatment is theirs to determine. Licences renew annually so that updates keep arriving, and a lifetime licence does not renew at all. You can cancel a renewal at any time from the licence email Freemius sends you, and cancelling keeps the build you have. It stops future updates, it does not switch anything off. Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
What we ask of you
- Do not resell or redistribute the paid build as if it were yours, and do not share licence keys. The GPL lets you pass on the code, not our support and updates.
- Do not use the software to run a programme that is itself unlawful, or to pay commissions on transactions you know to be fraudulent.
- Do not attack this website, and do not use support to abuse the person answering.
What runs where
The plugin runs entirely on your WordPress site and keeps its data in your database. We host no service that your affiliate programme depends on, so there is no uptime commitment to give you and nothing of ours to go down and take your tracking with it.
Some features reach outside your site only because you configure them to: a payout rail you connect, a webhook you point somewhere, the update check that delivers the paid build. Those are covered by the terms of whoever is at the other end. The plugin ships two Divi 5 modules and works with Divi; it is not a Divi product and Elegant Themes has no part in these terms.
Fraud scoring is advisory
Where the software scores a referral for fraud risk, that score is advice to you and nothing more. It never blocks tracking, never withholds a commission on its own, and defaults to approving when it is unavailable or unsure. Deciding whether to pay a commission is yours, and so is the consequence of that decision.
Our intellectual property
The Squad Affiliate name, the mark and the content of this website are ours. The GPL covers the code; it does not hand over the brand.
Warranties
The software is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of defects, nor that it suits a particular purpose you have in mind. Test it against your own programme before you rely on it for money. Where your local consumer law grants you rights that cannot be excluded, this section does not exclude them.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost data, or commissions paid or unpaid as a result of using the software, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, which cannot be limited.
Ending it
Stop using the plugin whenever you like. We may end a paid licence if these terms are broken, and if we do, the sections that are meant to outlast the licence. Liability, intellectual property, the warranty position, carry on.
Changes
These terms change as the product does; the date above moves when they do. A change that materially reduces what you get during a licence period does not apply to that period.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the place where we are established, and if you are a consumer, that does not deprive you of the protection of the law where you live. We would rather talk than litigate: write to us first and we will try to settle it.
