They switch themselves on
Each integration checks whether its platform is active and registers nothing if it is not, so an unused integration costs nothing — no hooks, no queries, no settings screen for a plugin you do not run.
WooCommerce and HPOS
The WooCommerce integration is HPOS-aware: it reads whichever orders table WooCommerce is actually configured to use rather than assuming posts. Refunds reverse commissions automatically, including partial refunds, which reverse proportionally.
Memberships and courses
MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, LifterLMS and LearnDash credit on the transaction rather than on enrolment, so a free trial that converts pays the affiliate at conversion. Recurring commissions follow membership renewals.
Donations
GiveWP credits a donation like any other transaction. Recurring donations can pay recurring commission — worth thinking about before enabling, since a donor’s lifetime giving is a long tail.
Forms and leads
Form lead tracking pays on a submission rather than a sale, which is how a programme works when the conversion is a quote request. Supported form plugins are detected the same way.
Nothing on the list?
The REST API and the Abilities layer let you record a referral from anywhere, which is how a bespoke checkout joins the programme.
